Tim Rundall, The Woodchip Shop owner, has been in business since 1998. His store in Des Moines, Iowa has been open since 2000. His mission is to provide the best products available and to provide the best woodcarving experience any where in the Midwest.

 "Woodcarvers:" Tim teaches beginning to advanced woodcarving classes each week and he brings in instructors once a month to teach at woodcarving seminars. He also travels throughout the Midwest to various shows, colleges, and fairs to teach, to sell his woodcarving tools, books, and supplies and to enter his personally carved items in competitions. The store in Des Moines is closed when he is out of town. So, if you are coming in from out of town to visit the store in Des Moines, be sure to check Tim's schedule first. Of course, our online store is open 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

 "Finished Woodcarving Products:" The Woodchip Shop displays a wide variety of woodcarvings from carvers all over the Midwest and West Coast. The quality of work from these carvers is fantastic and the variety of pieces is amazing. There is definitely something available for everyone. There are items priced as low as $5.00 and as high as $4500.

 "Chainsaw Carvings:" Tim, and other local chainsaw carvers, work together to handle all the requests for chainsaw carvings. These wonderful carvers can carve just about anything that can be imagined. Tim only carves at The Woodchip Shop due to all his other responsibilities. However, the other carvers are glad to go to other sites to carve.

"Log Furniture:" We offer lodge style furniture under our brand name of Timber Lodge Furniture. All log furniture is custom made to order and made in our workshop which is beside The Woodchip Shop. Most items are made from Lodgepole Pine brought in from Montana. Cedar is also used occasionally. We only use dead fall and never cut down live trees so we are doing our part to help the environment.

"Returning Customers:" We will be adding new items regularly, so please come back often. Also if there is something you need that you cannot find on our website, email us and we will try to find it for you.

If you are in the Des Moines area: this address is in Highland Park and we are 3 blocks North of Euclid on 6th Avenue. 

If you are coming from the North or East into Des Moines you will want to stay on I-80 and curve around the North side of the city. Get off I-80 at the 2nd Avenue exit and then proceed south to the stoplight at Madison (about 4 stoplights). Then turn right (west) and go to 6th Ave (which is another stoplight). Turn left (south) on 6th Ave and proceed to our store (about 2 1/2 blocks). We are on the east side of the street and look like a log cabin. 

If you are coming from the South or West into Des Moines you will want to stay on I-35 or I-80 until they meet and go around the north side of the city. Then follow the directions above starting with getting off at 2nd Ave. DO NOT go onto I-235.

STORE HOURS, when not at a seminar or show, are:
Tuesday through Friday 10am to 5pm
Saturday 10am to 4pm
